A sound installation that engages with and reflects upon interpretation and tradition as forms and as creative modeling clay within Portuguese folk culture.

Striking once more at the concepts of authorship and identity, and of free, communal expression. Driven by the desire to “tinker without fear” to work with these material and immaterial objects as if they were modeling clay, grounded in tradition, ethics, and honesty. Defined by its warrior-like, versatile and practical nature, a tradition rooted in women, it embodies an increasingly egalitarian spirit. Charged with power, the Adufe symbolizes as a tool for equality; it carries that dignity within it.

A sort of contemplative amulet an abstraction of the object and its context. Expanding aesthetically through the accompanying composition, the reproduction of the Adufe‘s reproduction, and its light.

That is what the author seeks: to work in a plastic manner, without decorum, but with the traditional ethic of the “plasticine object”.
