Presented in the style of a surreal panel discussion, The Talk draws inspiration from the Antikythera mechanism, considered the world’s first artificial computer. Through hypnotic soundscapes and spoken-word passages, the work explores the ways in which narratives, told through the lens of various technologies, shape our perception of reality. This documentary chronicles the various creative processes behind its production in Milan and Athens, culminating in its premiere in Lyon at the Les Nuits Sonores festival. This is yet another production by the TIMES network (The Independent Movement for Electronic Scenes), a collaborative project which brings together Semibreve and nine other European festivals to create original shows that combine music and the visual arts.
